Objective: Assist in planning and developing communications related to the USJersey organization’s strategic direction and annual goals both internally and externally.

- Serve as technical writer for the USJersey organizations
- Prepare presentations and reports for USJersey staff and representatives
- Prepare and edit materials and communications copy (i.e. annual report, research reports, content for USJersey websites)
- Prepare breed promotion and educational materials to carry the strategic direction of the association
- Coordinate development of Green Book production, print and digital
- Coordinate trade show promotions with Director of Communications
- Assist in maintaining web content and executing social media strategies
- Assist with planning, promotion and management of national Jersey youth development programs, capital fundraising efforts, and special events
- Assist with multi-media development, web design and video production
- Assist with hosting visitor groups and delivering orientation presentations
Qualifications:
- College graduate with degree in the field of agriculture or communications or equivalent experience.
- Must have excellent writing and grammar skills, have analytic and creative thinking, be able to distill complex information into concise text, charts for presentations, and have general office knowledge.
- Computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office365 applications, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop (experience with Creative Cloud environment a plus), and Word Press or equivalent web design application.
- Effective project planning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers.
- Dairy cattle background is desired.
- Team oriented with positive interpersonal skills.

Application Developer

Objective: The Application Developer will work alongside the Information Technology team to provide high quality web and mobile applications for the organizations’ staff and customers.

- Create and maintain web-based and mobile applications.
- Collaborate with management and end users to help clarify application goals, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions.
- Provide written documentation of new and revised application development.
- Plan and direct thorough testing of new and updated applications to ensure they will produce the intended outcome.
- Help create user manuals for all new applications to assist the end users. Update existing user manuals to reflect any revisions to their respective applications.
- Assist the Information Technology team with existing application enhancements to increase operating efficiency and to adapt to new system or user requirements.
- Undertake any other projects or duties as instructed by the IT Manager.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in software development or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience creating and maintaining web and Windows applications using C# 7.x, .NET MVC, VB.Net, HTML5, CSS3 using SCSS, JavaScript and JQuery.
- Proficient with SQL Server 2012/2014/2016 and SQLite3 databases.
- Proficient with Visual Studio 2017.
- Familiarity with Entity Framework.
- Familiarity with Dependency Injection, Unit Testing and related concepts.
- Familiarity with Jira or equivalent project management systems.
- Familiarity with creating and maintaining Android mobile applications and .NET WebAPI2 APIs a plus.
- Effective project planning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills including writing, speaking and the ability to listen.
- Willingness and ability to meet project deadlines.
- Team oriented with positive interpersonal skills.
